Things To Do
We were hoping for warmer weather, but it looks like the forecast is in the mid-60's. Here are some of our favorite places and activities in and around Tiburon to make the most of your stay. (Don't forget to dress in light layers and bring a jacket just in case.)
- Take the Blue & Gold Fleet Ferry to either Angel Island or San Francisco - the ferry lets off at Pier 41 Fisherman's Wharf, from there you could check out anything the city has to offer.
- Hike Mt. Tamalpais - this is one of our favorite places and is so beautiful.
- Meander downtown Tiburon. The classic main street offers antique, wine and specialty shops to peruse.
- Rent a bike from DemoSport or just walk the well-groomed trail along the water.
If you are considering spending a day up in wine country or want additional recommendations for activities during your visit, let us know.
Accommodations
There are two hotels in Tiburon. We will be providing transportation from both hotels to our ceremony location and back to the reception venue as there is no parking at the chapel.
THE LODGE AT TIBURON 800-762-7770
This is where the bride & groom are staying from Thursday to Sunday and we'd love to see you by the pool! They are pet friendly and walking distance from the reception venue. We have a block of rooms reserved at a discounted rate of $239/night. You can make a reservation by calling the number above and mentioning you are a guest of the Anderson-Burke Wedding, group # 11672b. Or use this link to reserve your accommodations.
waters edge hotel 415-789-5999
This is a beautiful boutique hotel with views of the bay, and just a few steps from our reception venue. 10% off when you call to book through the reservation desk and let them know you are a guest of the Anderson-Burke Wedding.
If neither of these match your preferences, check out accommodations in Sausalito and Mill Valley just a few miles away or perhaps see what's available on Airbnb. There are many options for a variety of travel tastes nearby.
Travel
The two closest airports are Oakland International (OAK) and San Francisco International (SFO). Either option is great, and I'd recommend whichever is a more economical choice. From both airports, there are many ways to get to Tiburon. Here are a few - and please reach out to either of us if you need any additional advice.
Rental Car:
Both OAK & SFO have rental car companies and if you are considering checking out San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, or the surrounding cities of Marin County, we recommend a car.
Shuttle:
- Western Eagle Shuttle: ~$50 door to door service from SFO or OAK to the Lodge
- Marin Airporter: ~$20 from SFO to Marin drop off on Seminary Drive in Mill Valley. From here you would either call a cab or use Uber to get a ride to your accomodations.
Public Transportation + Ferry:
There is a ferry terminal right in downtown Tiburon. This is the most scenic way to travel to and from Tiburon, but the ferry schedule is limited. Check out Rome 2 Rio for detailed travel options - it's a great resource.
